The Highlights

The highlight of the Facebook Portal is that the camera follows action. If you are playing fetch with your dog in the living room or moving in the kitchen, the camera will follow the action the entire time. This makes the device better at video calls and creates a more personal experience with the other person.

The Facebook Portal has Alexa built in, so can utilize all of the functionality that Amazon smart devices have, coupled with the action following camera!

Echo Show

Echo Show has Alexa, which has a diverse set of skills and functions. You will be able to order items from online with more ease. Hardware is very similar, but Echo Show comes with a price tag of $229.

Who is the Winner?

The winner depends on what exactly you value. The Amazon Echo Show and Facebook Portal have very similar hardware components and features, but the Portal is $30 cheaper and includes the action focused camera, which sounds awesome!

The downfall about buying a Facebook product is that they have had major data security concerns in recent months, so it may be a little early to jump on board. For this reason we think the Amazon Echo Show is still the best Smart Home Device on the market.
